Electronic Health Record
Printing, sorting, scanning, charting and reviewing lab results is a time-consuming task and often accounts for a large percentage of the paper in a healthcare provider’s office. Many Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems today can manage lab data in a more meaningful way than just attaching an image to a patient’s chart. As a bonus, the Federal government provides incentive funding for Medicaid providers who invest in an EHR certified for Meaningful Use.
In addition to offering ChildLink™ in your office, Nationwide Children's Laboratory Services has successfully setup interfaces to send lab results and/or receive orders electronically with any EHR system that can accommodate a lab interface. We have live interfaces with Allscripts, Aprima, Athena, Centricity, eClinicalWorks, ElationEMR, Greenway, HealthBridge, McKesson, Med3000, ModuleMD, NextGen and Practice Fusion. We are willing to work with any other vendors, too.
If you are interested in exploring the possibility of a results interface to your EHR, please contact Laboratory Services at 1-800-934-6575 or email us at LaboratoryServices@NationwideChildrens.org.
